Read the same fields on each product
Look at the offered service, data allowance, typical performance information and the terms linked from the provider's current broadband label. The FCC maintains consumer information about these labels. Use the label for the product actually available at the address.
An introductory arrangement is different from the ongoing service terms. Separate equipment, installation and other entries rather than comparing only a headline. Keep a dated copy with the agreement.
Ask what the label cannot tell you about your home
A summary does not map Wi-Fi coverage in every room. Building layout, router position and device capability affect the local connection. Ask whether the service is fiber, cable or fixed wireless and which equipment is supplied.
For work, check upload needs and application requirements. A larger download figure alone does not settle whether a connection fits an important task. Test a wired connection where practical to isolate the access service from Wi-Fi.
Revisit the comparison when circumstances change
Moving address, changing a mobile bundle or returning equipment can alter the account. Confirm the actual consequences with the provider. Keep cancellation and return evidence until the final bill has been reconciled.
