Prepare the device and account
Check the exact model, region variant, software and carrier-lock status with the provider. Have trusted Wi-Fi, adequate battery and account recovery available. A phone may store several profiles while supporting fewer active lines at one time.
Label existing profiles before adding another. Know which number is used for account verification. Back up the phone, but do not assume a normal backup contains a reusable eSIM activation credential.
Follow the activation method supplied
A provider may use an app, QR code, operating-system transfer or manual details. Use only the method supplied for that line. Some activation codes are single-use or time-limited. Repeated scanning can create confusion without completing provisioning.
Do not delete the working profile simply because installation appears delayed. Note the exact error and whether the new profile is installed, active or waiting for a number transfer. Those stages need different support actions.
Finish with a line-selection check
Choose default voice and data lines deliberately. Test calls, SMS and data. If a travel profile supplies data only, it does not necessarily replace your usual phone number. Review automatic data switching to prevent an unintended line from carrying traffic.
When replacing or resetting the device, follow the provider's transfer instructions first. If the old phone is lost, use the official account-recovery process. Our guidance service does not need your activation QR code or verification code.
